This was originally started a few months ago as a personal piece and didn't really come together too good - kind of resembled a Planet Of The Apes character more than a chimpanzee. Scrapped that one, reworked and using this one to pitch for a commission.
The final sculpt is actually a mix of various chimp & bonobo ref pics with some features deliberately accentuated - such as the chin fur (just to stylise a little)
