Calibration...

Hey folks,

Thought I'd write a wee post on something that just occurred to me the other day - monitor calibration.

Over the last few years, I've noticed differences in image quality: colour casts, contrast and brightness with my work viewed on friends and family's computers, phones & tablets. Most of it wasn't too bad but probably because the work I do now is high contrast, the differences are much more apparent.

I set up a couple of test images with "A" being basically what I see on my screen and "B" the same image across a bunch of tablets, phones, PC's and Macs.  The "A" images on my screen are very bright, almost white with very little cast. This is basically how the artwork itself looks in reality. The "B" images are just very, very off. - grrrr!

I've calibrated my monitor using the Windows8 tool and  have  begun correcting my images. Hopefully you guys should see the differences soon.

Most of my Flickr & website images have now been corrected if anybody wants a peep at what they should look like btw.

Blogger posts affected will be sorted asap aswell.

Gordon.
